Drayton Motors – from 1st April – FAQ’s for all staff

Following Chris Roberts’ announcement, you’ll already be aware that from 1st April our entire group will begin trading under one unified name: Drayton Motors.

There is a significant amount of work happening behind the scenes to support this transition, and you’ll receive further updates and communications — both internally and for our customers — over the coming weeks.

In the meantime, we’ve put together a set of FAQs to help build your understanding of what this change means. If you have any additional questions or thoughts, please speak with your manager in the first instance.

  • Why are we rebranding? To reflect our growth, strengthen our market position, and unify our identity for the future.
  • What exactly is changing?
    • We are moving to a single, stronger brand—Drayton Motors.
    • What this means:
      • The Wilson & Co name will no longer be used as a trading name
      • All sites, communications, and customer touchpoints will be aligned under Drayton Motors
      • Branding, signage, digital assets – including the website, and customer‑facing materials will all change to Drayton Motors
  • What is not changing?
    • Same ownership group
    • Same commitment to customers
    • Same teams, same locations, same core values
  • Will my job change? No. Roles, responsibilities, and employment terms remain the same. The main change is your email address – if you currently have @wilsonandco.com or @rjtkgroup.com – you will be changed to @draytonmotors.com (your old address will forward on)
  • Will my contract change? No – Your employer remains the same legal entity. In some cases, we may issue updated documentation (e.g. handbook, policies) to reflect the Drayton Motors name. This is an administrative update, not a change to your core terms and conditions
  • Will my pay or benefits change? No – your salary, commission structure, bonus schemes, and benefits are not changing because of the name change. Any future changes to pay or benefits would follow the usual consultation and communication processes
  • Will the uniform change? We are reviewing uniform and over time, anything supplied by the business will be updated. Every day uniform for all showroom/customer facing staff stays the same – dark suits and white shirts/blouses
  • What should I say to customers? “Same team, same service — just a new name.”
  • How do I update my email signature? This will be done automatically by our IT department.
  • What will our website address be? Currently the ‘group’ website address is rjtkauto.com as we can only show one website address. All of other addresses that we advertise forward to rjtkauto.com. We will change to draytonmotors.com – along with a whole new website in early May – more communications will come out in due course.
  • How do I answer the telephone? From 1st April – Good Morning/Afternoon, this is (name) at Drayton Motors. How may I help?
  • Will customers know about our new name? We will be sending communications to our whole database, social media profiles will be amended alongside with the website – so customers will start to see the changes from end of March and throughout Q2
  • What is happening to RJTK? RJTK is still the umbrella company and also our own internal brand to bring us all together – so you will still see this referred to alongside our core values
  • Got a question that hasn’t been answered? Please speak to your manager who will get the answer!
